Best Apps to Download for getting around Paris II Paris Travel Tips

Traveling around new cities can be a little bit overwhelming but these apps will make your Paris trip SO much easier! As an official Parisienne (I think 7 years living here qualifies me right?) I use these apps almost every day.

  1. RATP - This is the official Paris metro app and SO convenient for getting around the city. (Check out THIS article on using the Paris Metro)

  2. Google Maps - I use google maps every day to check out walk times and routes. I also love using google reviews to check out restaurants before going inside. You can easily download the paris map for offline usage in your app. I'd highly recommend doing this if you're not sure to always have data on your phone.

  3. Kapten - This is the French "Uber" and is a great app for ordering cars. I personally find the service better than Uber (which also exists here). If I think the prices might be higher than usual I compare them between uber, kapten, and the G7 apps. For 15€ towards your first 3 courses on Kapten, use the code KATDON4

  4. G7 Taxi - This is the OFFICIAL Paris Taxi app. You can order taxis to come right away, reserve them for the future, and ask for convenient things like car and booster seats. You can pay in the app or in cash. I personally would rather take Kapten but for going to and from the airports it’s super practical as the rates are always the same.
