Everyone knows those days. The pancakes burn, pasta overcooks, baby's got colic, face is puffy, stubbed toes, the gas bill is twice it’s normal amount, broken glasses... Just anything that could go wrong, does.
We've ALL been there.
But what if you start the morning to your photo session like that? The thunderstorm of chaos hits right at 6am when everyone wakes up. How the hell do you survive?
I had a client a few months ago and this was her. (to protect my clients privacy the story is not about the family in the photos!) Running late, tears, literally asking me if they should just cancel the session and give me a check for their session time. I couldn't say yes.
I kept thinking, THAT is life and that's what we're here to show. The good the bad and the funny. Shit storms come around and smack you in the face when you least expect. You can't just throw in the towel, to do that is to lose out.
Lose out on a clean slate when you walk out your front door. Lose out on documenting the chaos. Lose out on those memories.
Believe it or not, during those days, the hardest ones where we are the most cut down, we are in our most pure form. No faces put on, just real souls sitting there on our sleeves.
This authentic, pure, beautiful you needs to be photographed. Because this is you right NOW and isn't this why you want a photo session?
To remember these crazy days?
To remember and document your kids childhood?
Why are we hiding the real?
Let it out darling...Set yourself free. You deserve a true account.
Of both the thunderstorm AND the rainbow.
